MIRAGE MAP BASIC GUIDE 2022

Tips and tricks you should know about Mirage

There are a few popular maps in CS: GO, including Mirage. While this map may not be as appealing as Dust 2, it is one of the most popular choices for professional teams and those playing for fun. Speaking of Dust 2, see our practical guide for some tips on how to get the most out of this map.

When it comes to Mirage, it is important to remember that this map is really important in the Counter-Strike franchise.

It has existed for many years, although it was not so popular in CS 1.6. However, the map was improved when it was released. CS:GO and quickly became one of the preferred options among gamers. So let's go over some of the tips and tricks you should know.

The design of Mirage forces the TC side to spread out a bit if they want to have full control of the map, which means that once the TCs start to fall, the T-side can have a big advantage if they get some input with several kills.

Rotating from one site to another takes a significant amount of time in this map and usually leaves the back and flanks open.

Some CS:GO maps allow you to get away with just having the most basic utility knowledge, but Mirage is certainly not one of them. This is especially true when it comes to playing the T-side.

Whether you are attacking the A or B bomb site, you will need to execute a strategy that involves smoke jumping from left to right and Molotovs flying to places where your opponents might be hiding.

Unlike Dust 2, Mirage is more open to sneaky moves as well. There are multiple entry points that players must be aware of at all times, and not all points can be covered by a teammate.

You may be killed when you least expect it, and this can happen quite frequently in this map classic. Therefore, learn all the calls and communicating when necessary is a must.

First things first, gaining control of mid will make a big difference for either team. Giving up without a fight should only be an option if your opponents regularly outnumber you or if they have an obvious advantage against your weaponry.

Leaving the middle unopposed means that T players can easily pile into any bomb site and even enter from behind by jumping into the window room (jungle).

A partner who plays from shorts or ladders can support you with their utilities. Intermediate players are often the first to encounter an enemy in Mirage, so don't hesitate to ask for help. Knowing when to pull back and reposition can also turn the tide in your favor. You can also mix things up and play aggressively and push from this position and engage the enemy from close to the car by doing a Rushor go to the underpass and ambush the opponents by pushing them to the B site.

Try to read the enemy team's behavior. See if they are an aggressive team or if they are taking things slow. Keep a mental note of when they are generally using their utilities and for what purpose. Your sense of of the game will improve slightly after each round.

Position yourself to prevent TCs from taking advantage of

After pointing out the importance of controlling the center, we then want to share your positioning. The players of Inexperienced CS:GO players may think that when you play as a terrorist, you always have to hurry. While there are scenarios where this tactic could work, Mirage is one of those maps where this rarely happens, playing slowly setting up the terrain can make your enemy rush and that will work in your favor.

To win the round, your team must take different positions. For example, one person should go to site A to prevent someone from running out of the TCs and catching the T's off guard. It is advisable for another person to stay near apartments at B and eventually move to the underpass if the team decides to change the game to go to the A site.

Of course, let's not forget the T-side AWPer. You can go to side A or stay in the middle. The latter is the position preferred by most people, as it allows them to capture at least one or two TCs as soon as they move.

While some teams prefer to focus on A, others emphasize B because they believe it is easier. Needless to say, this is not the case, there are all sorts of things that can go wrong. With TCs positioning themselves to kill you in a matter of seconds, you'll need to be smart.

One of the things you can do is to use as many flashes as possible. Throw them where you think they work best and try to catch your opponents while they are being bombed. This allows you to take the initiative and take control of the bomb.

Defending Bombsite A is usually a bit tricky. The enemy team can make a quick move by relying on their numbers, and if they get the initial kills, you can say goodbye to control of the bomb site. unless a miracle happens and you or your friends become John Wick.

If you see several smoke grenades landing on key positions, readjust your positions as a full team and try to punish your enemies when they are executing their strategy.

Being a single TC on a site means that you have the lowest numbers, a swap will favor the enemy team, but what is worse is not having a teammate who is there to refrag. Don't try to take on the enemy team alone. Even if you kill one or two, you will leave a big gap in your team's defense if you die quickly and remember.

You can take a significant amount of time for the player to of B rotates to A, and may end up having to leave that position undefended to cover your reckless play.

Bombsite B is where a lone wolf can shine and spread terror against the T-side. B apartments heavily favor defenders, even if the utilities are raining down on you.

However, you may still need help if the enemy team has some good players, who can pre-shoot the best peaks.. You should also remember that you are still part of a team and may need to rotate to mid or A, be sure to position yourself according to their teammates and not only according to your own preferences.

Although some people think otherwise, Mirage is a card in favor of Counter Terrorists (CTs); especially if they know what they are doing. Below we will point out some of the things you should know when playing as a CT. This first section is dedicated to Terrorists (T).

One important thing to remember when playing on the T-side is that you need to control the middle. Many professional teams don't pay much attention to the middle because they focus more on B, but having control of the middle will make a big difference in the game, make rotations difficult and even eliminate them.

In addition to being able to take down players who rotate to B, you can also make sure that no one rushes you. This may not seem like a small thing, but it can have a huge impact on your mission as a terrorist.

The fact that you have control of Mid means that the TCs must rotate through their base to the site of B, which takes longer. One of the things you can do to take control of Mid is to use your utilities. Things like smoke, flashes and Molotov bombs can make a big difference if you use them correctly.

On the T side, use its usefulness as equipment is even more important. Whether you are raiding site A or B, you will need to blow up fumes in key areas and they will all have to go off at the same time. However, fumes alone cannot win you the pump sites. Flashes are also needed for more effective executions.

Molotovs can also make a big difference, but learning when and where to throw them takes more practice than the others. Having medium control is just as important for the T-side, and without utilities, you start the fight at a disadvantage.

There are some cool smoke and grenade combos. that you can use to push the TC player who are playing from the window. Learning to smoke the window room from base T is essential. and fortunately there are some excellent workshop maps that show you how to do it.

Mirage Map of YPRAC will teach you all the essential smokes, flashes, molotovs and grenades, fakes and one ways. It is also an excellent workshop map to train in scenarios that may occur in the game.

If you plan to capture Bombsite A, it is important to have at least one player pushing from the center, the underpass or the palace. Focusing all your firepower on one entry point almost never works and even if you win the initial fight, your opponents will gain valuable information that they can use against you.

Attacking Bombsite B without any utility is even more dangerous. Apartments are a death trap for any T that goes blind, especially if it's a round of buying for TCs.

How do I play as a TC?

When it comes to playing as TC, there are different types of configurations you can follow depending on whether you play alone or with your friends. The classic option is 2-1-2 (which works for many other maps, including Dust 2), but there are many additional options to choose from.

Regardless of your setup, Mirage is one of those maps where you need to be active as a TC if you want to succeed. Of course, that doesn't mean you should rush your opponents, but staying in one place and letting the T's have full control of the map is never a good idea. You can easily rush both bomb locations and win the round with little or no effort.

When it comes to defending the two bombs, there are several tactics you can use. The first focuses on playing aggressively, while the second gives you enough time to react and hide when things go wrong.

For example, there are rounds in which you may have to dive into the palace, but there are cases in which you can stay in the Site A near the triple box (Olofmeister).

Speaking of the A-side, it is advisable to learn to play close to the bomb point. This is one of the most important positions in Mirage, as you can be defensive or aggressive depending on the situation.

The B-bomb site at Mirage

Generally, people think that B is easier to defend than A, at least when it comes to Mirage. However, if you don't position yourself correctly, your opponents will easily charge and kill you in seconds.

Most people try to play defensively and stay close to where they can hide. This has its advantages, but those who play aggressively and in a hurry usually get better results.

Of course, each batch of CS:GO is different, so try to learn how your opponents work together before deciding on a tactic.

It's worth mentioning that CS:GO is one of those games in which you need to play a lot for improve. Even if you learn all the tips and tricks, it will take time before you start implementing them in every game.

To outrun your enemies or prevent them from trying to outrun you, you must learn the most popular one way smokes. Knowing where these deceptive smokes appear will allow you to shoot enemies through the smokescreen or catch enemies off guard.

Another good trick is to know the popular bost points to surprise your opponents. Also, bost jumps can win you key positions, especially in the middle zone. Try not to line up with your teammate, especially when pushing from tight angles/positions and corridors.

The AWPers can inflict multiple kills at once if enemies line up. You can use your utilities not only to deny entry to sites, but also to buy some time until your teammates rotate into position.

With all the information you have in this guide, you only need to go deep into mirage...
