The enormous CS2 upgrade which launched on October 2, is as close to a new operation as you can get. The Armory Pass works similarly to the latest operations in that you can earn credits to spend on a wide range of cosmetic items.

From awesome new weapon skins to the addition of weapon charms and new decals, there's something for everyone in the Armory Pass. Today's patch also includes a restructured group of competitive mapsThe new version includes many animations and network fixes, and some bug fixes.

Three new weapon collections and a box!

The Armory update comes packed with new cosmetics, with three new weapon collections, a new case and two decal capsules that bring over 100 new items to CS2.

The collection Overpass 2024 has been revamped and headlined by the AK-47 B The Monster, which features iconic graffiti straight out of the map. The collections Graphic y Sport & Field include vibrant and unique skins and can be obtained by spending battle pass credits earned after activating a pass.

The same applies to the The gallery box which includes 17 new skins and the possibility of getting the Kukri knife. To open it, you will have to spend credits and buy a key. The Elemental Craft and Character Craft sticker collections will also cost you a Battle Pass credit.

Finally, for a whopping 25 credits, you can purchase the Desert Eagle Heat Treated . Esta skin es «única en su desgaste y diseño» según Valve, y se parece mucho a las skins Case Hardened de antaño.

Weapon key rings . In total, 33 amulets are included with The Armory Pass, including the collection Missing Link (small versions of agent skins equipped with cool costumes) and the collection Small Arms (tiny weapons in different colors).

Weapon keychains have been in high demand in CS2 since their popularity skyrocketed in other first-person shooter games. If you want to get the new amulets, you'll have to shell out money for the Armory Pass or pay a premium for one when it arrives in the Steam Market.

Italy enters the competitive map pool

Italy today. Italy came to CS2 when the game was released with a massive visual overhaul. One of the most beautiful maps in the set, Italy, now appears alongside Office in the Hostage group.

This doesn't mean we'll see Italy in the Premier League or in e-sports events just yet, but their late entry into the competitive group may indicate that Valve está expandiendo los principales «modos de juego» available in the competition for players.

Full patch notes for The Armory patch and new features in CS2

The Armory

  • The Armory features three new gun collections, two collections of llavers, two collections of stickers, the Gallery Case and the heat-treated Desert Eagle.
  • Purchase and activate an Armory Pass to start earning Armory Credits.
  • Advance to credits as long as you earn XP with an active Armory Pass.
  • Redeem credits for items in the Armory.

Weapon key rings

  • Introducing keychains: dynamic objects that you can apply to your favorite weapons. Currently available exclusively at the Armory.
  • Drag and drop llavers to place them accurately on the weapon you choose. A weapon can have one key ring attached at a time.
  • Use a keychain detachment to detach it from a weapon. The keychain will return to your inventory and you can reuse it.
  • Redeeming a keychain from the Armory gives you three free keychain detachments. Additional keychain detachments can be purchased.

Inventory and items

  • All items purchased at the store in the game (including the Armory), Trade Offers and the Steam Community Marketplace are now subject to a seven-day remarketing and resale restriction.
  • All stickers, patches and keychains available in the Steam Community Marketplace, the Armory or on friends' Steam Inventory web pages can now be previewed on your own inventory items.
  • The possibility of eliminating boxes of weapons in your inventory.
  • Added a decal scratch level selector when applying new decals to weapons.
  • Added an accurate decal wear level selector when scraping existing decals on weapons in the inventory. Applied decals can only increase their scratch level.
  • Added a way to immediately remove existing weapon decals from the inventory, in addition to scraping the decals.
  • Added a preview of the named tag module on the actual elements when applying named tags.
  • Fixed several cases where applying name tags or decals would result in the weapon being removed from your equipment.
  • When customizing a base weapon that is already equipped, the newly customized version will now be automatically equipped.

Animation

  • Improved character pose on steep slopes.
  • They were made to set and unset the feet differently for all use cases to help eliminate aggressively leaning characters (also known as MJ leaning).
  • IK pin/unpin logic is now unaffected by poor server ping times.
  • The IK feet are now repositioned to the inactive pose if the feet are fixed in a very different pose than the one created.
  • The content of running, walking and crouching was recreated to correct the wide-legged or scissors posture when traversing.
  • Animations and staircase behavior were modified so that character heads are much more representative of where the player's camera is, including characters that are now shown crouched correctly when on stairs.
  • Removed pops when crouching or standing up when jumping and reduced leaning animations when jumping.
  • Fixed the problem where the character's pose would jump when falling from a ledge.
  • Correction for many cases where the character's pose stood out subtly when moving with slow moving weapons.

Gameplay

  • Added a screen selection drop-down menu for windowless full screen mode to the video configuration screen.

  • Fixed an issue where footstep sounds were played for the local player but not transmitted to other players and vice versa.
  • Fixed an issue where water splashing sounds from ragdolls were being reproduced erroneously on live players.
  • Fixed a case where voice chat was not working on community servers.Fixed a case where incoming voice chats sometimes never closed.

Networks

  • Added telemetry option to display graphs of network fluctuation and delivery errors.
  • The way incorrect delivery of packages is measured was changed. Previously, if packages arrived out of order, this could be counted as an incorrect delivery even if it was corrected and did not affect the game. Also, instability was not taken into account, although excessive instability can affect the game. The new measurement method will only count reordered packages as incorrectly delivered if they affect the game. In addition, if network instability exceeds a threshold that affects the game, packets are counted as misdelivered even if they are not discarded and arrive in order.

Workshop

  • An optional third layer was added to the environment blending shader.
  • Added biplanar mapping as an option for environment shaders.
  • An optional moisture layer has been added, which can be painted with Hammer on environmental materials with the function enabled.
  • Color correction, roughness and normal adjustments were added to the foliage shader and static overlays.

Miscellaneous

  • Removed support for command line options that were intended for development purposes only.

Maps

  • Ancient
    • Some geometrical errors were corrected and disappeared.
    • Fixed some cases where players could detect player movement across the water from the other side of the map.
    • Some pixel errors were corrected.
    • Fixed a case where player shadows could be seen through the geometry.
    • Some trimming was adjusted for better player movement.
  • Anubis
    • Some missing collisions were corrected.
    • Some geometry and trimming elements that blocked grenade launches were modified.
    • See improved the trimming on some floors so that the pitches grenades are more predictable.
    • Fixed a pixel error.
    • The clipping was adjusted in some areas for better player movement.
  • Dust 2
    • Fixed some clipping at the B site.
  • Italy
    • Added to competitive pairing.
    • Fixed bird animations.
  • Mirage
    • Some stuck points of the C4 were corrected.
  • Nuke
    • Fixed a pixel walk problem.
    • Some stuck points of the C4 were corrected.
    • Some spaces in the geometry where elements could get lost were corrected.
    • Some geometrical errors were corrected and disappeared.
  • Overpass
    • Some grenade cutouts were adjusted to avoid bad grenade ricochets.
