What's new in CS2 Premier season 3
With the arrival of the new season, players of the famous first-person shooter video game saga are excited about the changes it brings. One of the highlights of this new season update is the renewed version of the map suite of active duty, where there are intense confrontations between combat teams.
In this context, the iconic Overpass map returns to the repertoire, giving players the opportunity to once again explore its intricate streets and hidden nooks and crannies. Overpass, with its characteristic urban environment, is set on a set of train tracks that gives it an air of constant tension.
The game strategies that can be developed on this map are diverse and complex, forcing players to adapt and work as a team to make the most of their advantages. Narrow passages, open areas and multiple checkpoints make each game unique, presenting challenges that balance the speed of confrontation with the need for deep tactical thinking.
On the other hand, the departure of Anubis marks the closing of a chapter in the multiplayer experience. This map, inspired by the aesthetics of Egyptian architecture, offered an attractive environment and an innovative design, but failed to capture the same magic as other consecrated scenarios. The decision to remove it seems to be supported by the desire to keep the gameplay fresh and offer players new opportunities to hone their skills in environments that are more balanced and dynamic.
With the removal of Anubis and the return of Overpass, the developers are looking to reignite excitement and interest in the game, allowing fans to re-experience past strategies while facing the new challenges the season will bring. This constant cycle of update and change is key to maintaining enthusiasm among players, ensuring that each game is not only a test of skill, but also an exciting and entertaining experience. Without a doubt, this season promises to be unforgettable, and game lovers can't wait to dive into the action that awaits them.
Overpass replaces Anubis in CS2 Premier's competitive map set
The map Overpassa longtime mainstay of the Counter-Strike competitive scene, returns to the competitive map pool after having been dropped in April 2024 in favor of Dust 2.

On the other hand, the map Anubisadded to Active Duty in November 2022, has been removed from the rotation for the first time in nearly three years. This decision comes amid growing criticism of the Anubis The map has become the most favorable one for terrorists by 2025.

Economic changes in CS2 Premier
Along with the map change, Valve has implemented several changes affecting the Counter-Terrorists (CT) side. The most notable addition is an additional cash reward for the team: TCs now earn $50 for each terrorist eliminated in a round, regardless of the outcome.. This change is intended to alleviate economic pressure on TCs and improve purchasing stability throughout the game.

Two significant adjustments in arms accompany the economic changes:
- The MP9 has been weakened with an increase in recoil and a significant reduction in accuracy when jumping, decreasing its effectiveness as an inexpensive SMG. [Priced at $1,250, it was one of the best weapons for forced purchases, so it is clear why the MP9 was weakened.]
- Meanwhile, the previously weakened incendiary grenade has now been upgraded: the fire spreads faster, making it more effective for area control and avoiding rapid fire by the enemy team.
Other changes in CS2 Premier
In addition to the changes in the game, Valve has introduced a new account security feature: users can now cancel all object exchanges for the last seven days. This measure is intended to combat fraud and provide confidence to those who participate in the exchange of skins.

This is the second consecutive seasonal update that significantly alters the CS2 Premier competitive scene, continuing the trend of more frequent updates to the map group. It is not yet known if Overpass will appear in future tournaments as a IEM Cologne. However, it is clear that teams should start practicing more on the Overpass map, developing additional strategies and team tactics.
